Around 5 am is when the journey to the Tambopata macaw clay lick begins. It takes 20 minutes to get to the government checkpoint, where the tour guide will descend and check everyone in, after that the trip continues 1 hours by boat along the Tambopata River. There is a considerable probability that shorebirds, capibaras, caimans, and other forest wildlife will be visible throughout the boat ride, and why not to mention a Jaguar, I like to say it, we have a 20 % of probabilities to see one of these guys by the river bank.
Arriving at the clay lick you can observe red, green, blue and yellow macaws, as well parrotles and parakeets, feeding on the clay. We will have the opportunity to photograph and film this unique event from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 am. Then we continue to the lodge to enjoy a rest or enjoy our swimming pool.
