Exposition about our research.
One of the researchers of our research project will explain to you about the project “Diversity of gastrointestinal parasites and their relationship to health in snakes of the Boidae family.” Which is being carried out within the Tambopata National Reserve, which seeks to raise awareness among the local population about the importance of boas in ecosystems.

Breakfast.
-
Looking for anaconda and mammal clay licks.
After breakfast, together with the research project team we will go out to look for anacondas, in a boat with a Peque Peque motor we will enter the Aguas Negras creek, which is a creek with crystal clear water, but that reflects a dark color, with trees and bushes. that cross from one side to the other and often cover part of the creek, giving a dark and mysterious appearance that takes you into a wild jungle. In this creek, anacondas are usually found sunning themselves on branches and palisades. If investigators catch the individual, this is where you will have the opportunity to help take biometric measurements and stool samples for laboratory analysis. After sailing for approximately 60 minutes, we will arrive at a mammal clay lick. A place with an unevenness in the ground, which was caused by mammals that gather in the place to eat clay, because it is rich in mineral salts, and this helps them in their diet. If we are lucky, we will be able to observe the wild Black spider monkey, red howler monkey, tapir, and collared peccary consuming clay.
